From the special features section of our DVD Model Railroad video vol 1: Modeling a prototype, here's another full train runby of the Seagull West as it crosses the North Umpqua River bridge just railroad east of Roseburg. This train runs daily from Eugene to Roseburg, OR. This HO model train represents as realistically as possible what you would have seen in July 1984 in Southern Oregon on the SP railroad. Modeling by Joe Fugate.

The secret to realistic rust weathering is layers. I apply a thin wash of rust spots dobbed on with a brush, then a layer of slightly more opaque rust, followed by a totally opaque layer of rust. The various layers like this look more realistic.

  • @modeltrainz Oh yeah, I remember someone telling me that a long time ago. Anyways cool

  • WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU YOU COCKSUCKER?

  • The Cotton Belt caboose at the end (of course at the end, where else) reminds me of the prototypical and rare red SP caboose # 1741.
