I took one last trip to the NS main before school started...the action did not disappoint.
Train 1: 213 blasts out of a crew change at Linwood with a 4 pack of GP60s. This was one of the last times I saw a consist like this on one of these intermodals, even online!
Train 2: A NB intermodal heads by with 2 GEVOs and a C40-9 Tophat.
Train 3: Another NB intermodal cruises past with 2 Catfish and a Conrail C40-8.
Train 4: A NB manifest with a Catfish, a C40-9 Tophat, and a C39-8 gives us a shave and a haircut.
Train 5: Another NB manifest rumbles into Linwood with an SD70 and a Catfish. For all you PA railfans, there were a few Reading & Northern hoppers in the train. Bringing up the rear was a cool Conrail caboose.
Train 6: A third NB intermodal heads for a crew change at Linwood with an SD70M-2 and a C40-9 Tophat. This was the first time I had seen an SD70M-2 leading.
4:10-LOL! "Theres a Caboose!" ha ha ha!

Makes me sick not to see the GP60s anymore, hell now all you see are Dash9's on NS. Think about it! They had to replace the HH SD40-2's with something? I remember when the CSX had Dash9's and NS didn't even have or thinking about getting them, but then it started! NS use to be littered with old school EMD's high hoods, you name it, NS had it! Now my friends you are even lucky to see the work horses of the old school NS! Even those days are numbered! Sign of the times guys! Great shots! SD70 A+

Thanks, I wish I had started railfanning here earlier; I could have seen a lot more of these great lashups. It was cool in the 90s when all of NS's hot intermodals would have the HHs. Luckily, I get the occasional heritage lashup here in Raleigh since the trains through here are of a lower priority.
