One in a series of instructional strength training videos produced for an online strength training class at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse by Travis M. Erickson, MS, CSCS*D. These videos, in conjunction with on campus, small-group exercise instruction, are intended to give the student a basic, working knowledge of strength training technique including why the lifts are done, how they are done correctly, and what common errors exist.
@fourthcitizen I don't think I'd be able to speak if I were trying to lift heavy weights while doing these. That being said, the technique of some of these lifts would probably benefit with a little bit more weight on the bar. When it's light, it's easy to do things wrong because, well, you can!

Thanks for doing these. I'm just starting out with weight lifting and I appreciate seeing someone do these exercises in the proper form, not videos of people breaking their legs or dropping the bar on their heads (which is a lot of what you find when you search "weight lifting.")
I also like that you do these lifts with lite weight and stress technique.
Well done.
