The Hacklinger gauge reads the wood thickness at any point on a guitar, mandolin or other stringed instrument. Easy to use and accurate, it's useful when carving an arched top or measuring vintage instrument specs.

  • This old boy is great. Who'd he study under? In Spain if Im not mistaken. Thanks for the helpful tips

  • i fucking hate stew-mac

  • @laiholapso They use DHL and you will receive it in max 3 days since you place the order. I live in italy and i use to receive it in 2 days without any damage.

  • dan fixed this guitar btw.

  • its not the thinkness you should care about it's the repair of the crack in this case. lol stupid tool

  • @GigglingGirI its not "1 inch deeper" it'd become 1inch thicker. They'd have to remove the back coloring, add a 1inch peice of wood, shape it to the body size, re-route all the cavities then match the color. Better off either doing it yourself, or just dealing with it and buying a more personal guitar.

  • good informative video, do you have any vids showing how to use the stewmac thickness caliper, I just recently received the newer metric model and would love to see a simple video showing someone using it. I may eventually have to get one of these as well.

  • Dear stewartmacdonald,

I love your tools and stuff and would love to place an order, jet it must be ship to the netherlands and I'm afraid my order shall get damaged, stolen or wont come at all considering the distance and the amount of hands it takes to ship my package.

Do you ship by normal post or do you have your own shipping stage, do you often ship to the netherlands and is there a guarantee that it shall arrive complete and undamaged?

    Kind regards Laiho.Lapso

  • that was amazing film inside a guitar.I have never seen a video inside a guitar.

  • I bought my husband a George Benson Ibanez GB10 guitar. He doesnt like the depth of the body he said its too thin. How do i get someone to make it 1 inch deeper without destroying the guitar?

Is there someone that could extend the depth of the guitar?
