We changed a lot of things starting with this rep.
1. we added additional lighting, so we should have fewer annoying shadows.
2. we started steamroller scenarios, we're doing kill box for the first 3 to get a feel for it.
3. filming is different. you will see a fast forward of the turn (with the longer thinking breaks removed) and have a short explanation at the end of that turn. Shorter then you are used to as a lot can be seen in the fast forward.

Comments and thoughts are welcome, we're not sure if this is the best way but all feedback will be taken into account.

So for this battle Master Ascetic Naaresh (skorne's new warlock) will be taking it up agains Madrak and his brick of champions.

  • Thanks guys. I like the new format more than the old format, but I have a couple of suggestions:

    1. The music is too loud relative to the players' commentary. Had to keep turning the volume up and down.

    2. You need closer camera work during the actual turns. It's hard to see which units are moving. We don't need to see the dice box or the deployment zones.

    3. A totally aerial angle (from directly over the tabletop) would be great, and would be different from other battle report formats.

  • @patisarat Thanks for the comments both. The music i hadnt noticed myself but now that you mentioned it yeah, the volume could be scaled back a bit, i'll take care of it starting with the rep comming on friday.

Closer camera work might be a good idea to, we'll probably start out the battle as seen now and as the action starts to condense more into a smaller area we can zoom in the camera to show that specific area.

  • @patisarat An aerial angle would be awesome, and i have actually thought about it before we started the new concept, but it is unfortunatly not possible. The camere would have to be higher up then is possible (ceiling is low as we play in a basement, if i stand on my toes, my head hits the ceiling) and somehow i dont think raven will appreciate the 'minor construction change' needed to change that :P

  • I like the new game board, easy to see things. I don't like the new format. Too much down time watching dice being rolled. Commentary was dry. I like the old format because you guys seemed to have more fun in your conversation.

  • Biggest plus is the lighting. Looks great!

I do agree on the dicebox and volume issues, though. The deployment zones aren't that much of a deal, because such things happen when you use a tripod...
