Actually Germany was not ever close to building a bomb. As the war ended teams spread out through germany to capture scientists and technology like Von Braun and the V2 rocket program. But when they interogated them it was revealed that nuclear weapons had not been a priority for hitler who was focused on being a complete phsycopath. The American grab was mostly to slow the russians from getting ahead, but they had spies in the Manhattan project anyway. The rest is history.

Germany had neither the manpower nor the resources to build the bomb. But they did have the brains. I guess all they needed was a little more time and they would have built one. Poor germans, we sure kicked their ass!

I was referring to the group effort. The ussr took a heavy beating before they got there war machine up to speed and thats because germany made the mistake of fighting a war on two fronts. If it was just germany vs ussr the ussr would have lost big time.

Yeah, I guess all of the lend-lease crap we sent dosen't count.

It was pretty much Germany's bomb, It was 70% German and like 30% American so we shouldn't take credit for the bomb.
