  • i live in toronto how do i become an extra. i did a lot of work as an extra for various soap operas in europe and loved the experience even had a few lines some times. :) was great. i would love to continue.

  • i agree.....

  • They more you get out there and meet practically everyone, the better chance you have. Who cares about being unprofessional (to a certain extent here meaning just casually talking to the crew in a polite manner nothing bad). Bottom line is just get out there and talk talk talk talk talk to anyone about anything...either way you'll get a reputation good or bad, at least they are still thinking about you haha. Anyhow, good luck!

  • Continued: ...

It always who you know in the industry not how good you are. I know a lot of people say to stay in the background and not really be heard (when your not shooting and just chilling around) when ur a background person but I would be talking to EVERYONE on crew even the garbage man haha just to get my name out. Just talk to TONS of people no matter how stupid, embarassing, or unprofessional you/they think you sound.

  • I dont think thats true what axemurderer8 said. I believe that if you work hard enough at it than it is quite possible. I don't want to suond like a downer but its all about who you know, not how good you are and I think that goes with ALMOST any acting job major or not.

  • No. You pretty much need to have a few lines first in a film or TV show, and then join SAG. Extra work should be considered a hobby. Almost never does an extra make it in acting. People usually do this on the side from their normal job. FYI though. Most states have people who clame extra work is available. They're scams. Example: Tallent 6. The only states that you'd know the extra work is legit would be CA, NY, NM, and FL. Sometimes a rare film comes to a random state like Minn but not often.

  • if you have done a lot of extras could you get in a big hollywood movie
