my band's playing this song this year; it actually is hard. i have to book it through the entire song, so between marching and playing my baritone, i'm about to pass out. ahaa.

Sound quality of a recorded mellophone on a video camera tends not to be very good. I play mellophone and had a solo in our school's Phantom of the Opera show (FYI-it was in Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again) and no matter what I did, no matter how loud I played, it always sounded off on a recording.
We're still getting hints, but I believe we're doing this next year as well.

I hate to sound mean, but that mellophone player sounded like a dying whale out there. Is it that hard to play and march?

We're doing this show next year for marching band and I play the mellophone, so I should be counting on a solo next year.
Hopefully.
But, to be honest, this mellophone player wasn't very good at playing. : /
