@DJCalimovement People were pissed because some of the songs had a lot of "pop concessions" (R&B singers in the background, smoother beats, etc.). They thought he'd "sold out"....man, I wish I had a time machine so I could go back to the nineties and play some of TODAY'S rap for Nas' fans. Then maybe they'd understand what "selling out" means.

@DJCalimovement i mean really anything he dropped after illmatic woulda been a falloff. the standard was set so high. especially back in that era when classic albums were coming out all the time

I never understood why people were disapointed when Nas dropped this after illmatic....every track..beat....rhymes are classic....I still bump this in the ride.

Second-best Nas album. "Live Nigga Rap" makes this album.

It's underrated in the sense that Illmatic is (rightfully) held as Nas' career high, but people tend to forget how all-around solid this album is. Of course people know who Nas is, but that doesn't mean they have a high opinion of all of his albums.
