Jean-Luc Godard's subversive foray into commercial filmmaking is a star-studded Cinemascope epic. Contempt (Le Mépris) stars Michel Piccoli as a screenwriter torn between the demands of a proud European director (played by legendary director Fritz Lang), a crude and arrogant American producer (Jack Palance), and his disillusioned wife, Camille (Brigitte Bardot), as he attempts to doctor the script for a new film version of The Odyssey.

  • @gol67 Assuming I'm trolling assumes that I'm being facetious, which I'm not.

    :)

  • @RaymondDundas worst troll ever

  • @gol67 No, I won't shut the fuck up :)

  • @RaymondDundas Would you shut the fuck up? go make cinema of your own pretentious snob

  • @ilovetati91 No, because Godard is fucking pretentious. His films use visual style to sabotage character development which is why most of the characters in his films are shallow. A unique exception was Vivre sa vie which actually allowed character development because Godard wasn't so concerned with stroking his ego. Why don't you test your attention span with actual masterpieces such as Tokyo Story, The Rules of the Game, L'Avventura, and Children of Paradise instead of this horseshit? Idiot.

  • @RaymondDundas AKA you have too short of an attention span and have to insult it to make yourself feel intelligent again.

  • God, this film is fucking pretentious. I hate it.

  • Should of had more sex

  • @lakumru

Ce n'est pas bizarre, c'est tout simplement du Godard !!!!

  • The photography and color palette is absolutely stunning. Art in motion. If not Godard's best film than it's certainly his most aesthetic.
