A Skier triggers an avalanche and gets swept away - but manages to keep filming. This footage was not shot by me - found it years ago - can't remember where.

  • I just can't imagine the huge adrenaline rush you must feel when you see the snow breaking up like that.

  • I wouldn't exactly call it an adrenaline rush, but it certainly concentrates the mind.

  • I posted this because I got caught in exactly the same way in Austria 3 years ago. Scary stuff, and this video is exactly how it felt to me.

  • One of the biggest mistakes people make is side-turning their skis thinking they can anchor themselves - this is never the case except if you're at the fracture line and there's no mass behind you. KEEP MOVING - Find a high spot or a ridge and do your best to "surf" out of it.

It's not easy, but NEVER side turn. You'll lose your balance and end up going downhill upside down. The WORST way to fall.

  • Dude you are lucky.

Next time have someone ride with you who also has a transciever. This is always rule number one: never ride offpiste alone.

  • I can't tell if you're moving with the snow or not? It's blagging my head

  • only niggers get caught in avalanches

  • I take it the reason it stopped was because of the gradient of the mountain?

  • tiens, c'est la video à Jerome.

It takes place in French Pyrénées, in november

  • i bet there was quiet a bit of yellow snow after that happened

  • Shit!!.. You're very lucky, looks like a snow river. This freezes a man inmediately. I would be dead of scare haha
