Trying out time lapse at night. 15 second exposures, 1 frame per minute. Canon A570 with CHDK and a time lapse script. Full manual mode. Infinity focus. ISO 100. F5.0. "Cloudy" white balance. 16x9 format (3072x1728). Used Automator to scale images to 1280x720. Used QuickTime 7 to convert image sequence into QuickTime movie, 24 frames per second. Used QuickTime X to export as h.264 format, 5 mbit/sec.

  • Wow. That is VERY nice!

  • Thanks Mark! Next time, I'll try to get a much better shot. But now I know how to do it.

  • Waitaminit... 720p??

Is this a different camera, or is it somehow magically now we're able to take HD??

I need to get a drool towel in that case.

  • It's a time lapse movie taken as a series of stills at 3072x1728 pixels. Underexposed, though.
