You see Jesus was a man. he a had a backbone and stood up for what was right. Why can't you men in the Church stand up and challenge your so called pastor. I can go to my pastor and speak the truth and need not cower behind the pews. Exodus 20:11-16 states the requirement for the payment of the half shekel for the service of the tabernacle. It is a matter of history (largely Josephus) that we learn about the moneychangers and their fraudulent practices in the temple. They used "false balances" to weigh the coins. Proverbs 11:1 says "A false balance is an ABOMINATION to the Lord." . It is easy to see why the Lord would be extremely angry since they were robbing and oppressing the poor by fraud for private gain.
