  • Great Vid. Can see the influences from the brothers quay in this one. Great lighting and great idea, The only down side is it would have been smoother at a higher frame rate, other than that very good work keep it up. 4 stars

  • yeah, it was my first use with the ball and socket.. originally just test footage but i thought it worked well, idea just happened.. it kept falling to apart so it kinda wrote itself..lol Don't dress puppets with tissue paper! I tend/aim to shoot in twos, unless it needs ones (like blinking)

    The Leaves worked well.

dam its hard to get just right..lol

  • 5 stars. hey did you just use a normal digital camera for the stop motion?

  • Yeah, just your average digital camera., the type everyone has. no fancy equipment here.. :)

  • I don't understand the low rating.. I think it's beautiful!

  • Thanks, good to see a few people enjoyed it.

I guess the low rating is just trivial, be nice though to find out what people didn't like about it.. thats far more useful and productive. :)can't progress otherwise.

  • oh, the knetrobot. sweet!

  • great effort

  • it seems so true and pure, plus the track you chose couldn't be more appropriate!liked it so much!:D

  • :| Good job!!!

  • good video!

  • excellent

  • good job!

  • That's it !

  • i really liked your film. it was very emotional and well thought out, great job. the only thing i didnt really like was the face on the clay guy. it seemed a little cartoonie

  • you can buy 12" ball and socket armatures online. about $180

can't afford to use liquid latex.

  • I have mixed feelings.

Much of the stuff in the beginning felt to amateur, and one scene had black bars on the sides, which wasn't good. When it got to the stopmotion I thought it was better, though the character's comic-book eyes didn't seem to fit in with the mood of the song. The tiled floor and the leaves were good, and I think there's potential for a really great video with some of your stuff.

  • Superb Phil. I just love this short, my favourite of all your work so far. I guess I can see the eye thing a little too, the eyebrows were great for showing the emotion but perhaps the bright white of the eyeballs were a little too startling. Maybe paint 'em up a little bloodshot next time around! LOL...

  • you have a ball and socket armature model whered you get it? try liquid latex instead of clay. good job tho

  • thanks, appreciate all the feedback.

Yeah its a bit to late now to change his eyes i tink, i was trying to use the eyes to capture the emotion. However they were a little to cartoony.. a little to comical i guess for this but its all i had...lol

  • agreed.. awesome video but your "clay dude" needs to channel more intensity of emotion. If he can be a bit less "googly" and a bit more "boogly" i say you've got a keeper here.

    but seriously... excellent video. :-)

  • Wow, that is way cool dude. Love the stop-motion stuff. My favorite kind of animation, although I bet that took forever to do.

Yep, I agree. I clay dude was cool - until the eyes. The whole vibe of the video was ominous and then the eyes weren't.

Other than that, very well done.

  • I like the stop animations a lot! Only thing I could have maybe suggested is losing the googley eyes on the clay dude. The scenes were very awesome, his face just didn't seem to fit the mood right.

Otherwise, I really liked it. Feel free to check out my interpretation if you want. :D
