So chuffed I looked this up. Instant flashback to brilliant times. I WORSHIPPED the Mo-Dettes as the only female band who didn't look a bit uncomfortable and apologetic on stage. EVER! I shall be on this bit of You Tube for some time..........................

brilliant. i loved this song at the time, and hearing it now for the first time in almost 30 years, well it sounds even better now. they were gorgeous, yet stong and in control and not exploited sexually as many female acts still are today. is there a video for 'tonight' that was a great song also

I remember Smash Hits published the lyrics, but I don't remember much of it... chorus is I think 'don't be stupid don't be limp, no girl likes to love a wimp, dance and make fun nicely done, come and be my number one'... the rest I don't remember. Wasn't the singer Swiss?

I remember going to Hazel O connor at the Rainbow in Finsbury Park and the Mo-Dettes were the support act. Its the only time ive seen the place go wild for the support act and Hazel just couldnt match the energy of these girls. I saw them many times after that and it always a good show. Its such a shame they split up as thjey would have been big strs and the lead singers looks.

I couldn't make out the lyrics 30 years or today, great song nonetheless and great club

I have a 7" single version from when I was a teenager & the lyrics are on the sleeve.

@SoulstylistJukebox Many of my handmade DVD's are available on my website, I just added a link in the description here but for some reason you can't add links in the comment reply boxes. There are no plans yet to make this available but maybe one day ....

I've only heard this song recently. When was it released? Does anyone know the lyrics?
allister1964 2 years ago
it was released around 1980. It was a huge hit in the dance clubs. I believe it is recently re-released on Cherry Records. Their songs are really worth buying on record, very high energy and nice clean production. I can not make out the lyrics and wish I could, would like to sing along!

You say this is an excerpt... where's the rest? Fantastic stuff.

It is newly re-mastered to some DV tape in a cabinet in my studio. The original master tapes are stored elsewhere.
