On Saturday 3 September 2011, Steamrail Victoria operated the third mainline test run of steam locomotive R711. This time the locomotive ventured to Seymour on the north east mainline with five steel cars in the blue and gold livery.

This video contains two shots of R711 at Heathcote Junction and Dockerys Road. Also featured is the down Albury pass which was only about 10 minutes behind the special, but running on the Standard Gauge.

  • Royal Blue and Gold..reflections of days past , R711 was impressive...great shots!

  • Excellent Shots! 711 sounded great at Heathcote Junction!

  • I got home about an hour ago from going on that! Awesome day, but I suggested that about 1-2 k's outside of Seymour when it was leaving was a fabulous spot.

  • Wonderful stuff, James. I enjoy watching the progress of R711 from here in Bedford, UK.
