Third Eye: How To See The Inner Light, Kriya Yoga

Several years ago I experienced a meditation breakthrough when I realized that, contrary to some misleading teachings, the inner light of the ajna chakra is seen through subtle vision, not physical vision. (In view of the fact that the light is itself spiritual, not physical, doesn't this make intuitive sense?) There can be no better proof of this for me than my own obvious experience. I'm sure there must be other yogis who would benefit by learning this. It's my independence of thought that enabled me to become a seeker in the first place, and I will never give up this freedom, which is a blessing. If I see flaws in any guru's system of practice, I must point it out, no matter how renowned the gurus may be or how much I respect them overall. I do no one any good by keeping this knowledge to myself. Even the greatest philosophers sometimes make mistakes, and this is true of gurus too. Those who hear my point of view can evaluate it according to how well it works for them. As with philosophy, successive generations of yogis can build on each other's knowledge. By being open to this, we can offset tendencies of spiritual teachings to stagnate and rigidify into dogma. I believe that, like nature, spiritual teachings should be organic and growing, always open to evolution and change with changing times. Sometimes certain teachings and methods may be right for a time, but then they should be modified to better suit a different time.
