INAUGURAL SAM HOUSTON RACE PARK IDOL SINGING CONTEST (Ages 6 to 18)

You Think You Have What It Takes To be Houstons Best Singer? Sam Houston Race Park (www.shrp.com) is searching for Houstons best singers to perform for a chance to win cash and prizes! The Park will host the Inaugural Sam Houston Race Park Idol singing contest, open to singers ages 6 to 18 years of age, beginning Friday, January 15, 2010. The contest will feature two divisions, Junior (ages 6 to 11) and a Senior (ages 12 to 18), performing before a panel of industry judges and a live audience in between racing events. Contestants will perform a two-minute song of their choice and be scored based on vocal performance, audience response and stage presence. One Junior and one Senior division winner will be selected. Qualifying rounds will take place January 15 & 22; Finals will take place January 29, 2010.
