You Were Right ~ Jemi One-Shot ~ 3/3

~Author's POV~

Joe left that afternoon after lunch just as planned. Demi was really worried about him, but didn't show it. She always asked Joe if he was doing ok. Joe knew she was worried. He always knew how she felt it. He was in love with her anyways.
When Joe left, Demi felt really weird, as if she didn't belong there. Sterling notice that she was acting weird, so he decided to talk to her.
"Dems, babe, are you alright?" He asked. Demi had been thinking all night. She decided that it was time to tell Sterling the truth.
"Actually, not really." She said with a sad tone.
"What's wrong?"
"This is hard for me to say, and please don't take it the wrong way." She said softly.
"Okay?" He was confused.
"Sterling, I don't love you."
"W-what?" he asked in shock.
"I'm so sorry" She said, almost in tears. "I really like you. You're a great guy and any girl would be lucky to have you, but I just found out that I'm not in love with you. I'm-" She was cut off. "In love with someone else?" He said, completing her sentence. She looked up at him with tears already running down her face. She nodded "I'm sorry." She hugged him. He smiled a little. He understood her and only wanted the best for her. He really did love her, and wanted her to be happy. He rubbed her back lightly and tried to calm her down.
"It's ok Dems. I get it." He whispered. She pulled away and looked up at him. "You do?" she asked surprised. He chuckled a bit and cleaned her tears. "Yes." He said. "I knew you liked Joe. But I never knew you were in love with him." He finished. Her eyes widen. How did he knew? "It's a little obvious Dems." He chuckled. "I'm sorry." She said again, looking down. He grabbed her chin and pulled it up softly so she could look at him. "Hey, it's ok." He said. "I understand." She smiled a little and hugged him. "Thank you." She said. He hugged back.
"You should go to him and tell him." He suggested.
"But what if he doesn't love me back?" she asked worried.
"Oh he will." He said with a wink, which made her laugh. "But first let me do something for the last time." He said getting closer. "Which is?" she asked confused. Her question was answered when Sterling planted a soft kiss on her lips. She smiled in it and kissed him back. Seconds later he pulled away and smiled down at her. "Good luck" He whispered. She smiled and with that he left to find the person which she was in love with.

The doorbell rang at Joe's house. Joe was in his room resting, but no one else was home, so he had to get up and open the door. Once he did, the person behind the door, surprised him.
"Demi?" He asked. "What are you doing here?" He let her in.
"I need to tell you something" She said entering the house.
"Is everything alright?" He asked, leading her to the couch. They both sat down and Demi began talking.
"Yes. Everything is fine."
"So what's up?" He was really curious by now.
"Well, remember yesterday when we were walking?" She asked.
"Yes?" He asked confused.
"Remember what I told you? That I didn't love Sterling."
"Yes, I remember. You told me that you were in love with someone else." He said.
"Yeah. Uhm.. I came here because I need to tell you who that person is."
"Why is it so important?" He asked. Not having any the idea that this person was him.
Demi took a deep breath before talking. "Because that person is you." She said a little fast. She closed her eyes really tight, not wanting to see his reaction. She was scared of rejection. After seconds of silence she opened them just to see a shocked Joe in front of her.
"You're kidding me right?" He said standing up. When she heard that she felt really sad. 'I knew he didn't love me' was all she thought. Once Joe saw her face he began talking again. He smiled really big, making Demi really confused. "I'm in love with you too" he said.
She smiled really big, standing up as well. "You are?" She asked really excited. He nodded quickly and she ran into his arms for a big hug. He spinned her around, but the thought of Sterling made him stop. "Is something wrong?" She wondered out loud. "What about Sterling?" He asked looking down at her. She smiled at him and pecked his lips. "I already talked to him. He understood everything." She murmured against those beautiful lips that she always dreamt about kissing. He smiled big again and brought her closer so he could have a taste of those lips that he always loved. They stood there kissing without nobody to stop them. Right now they were the happiest couple ever.

"Joe! I'm home!" Her mom said once she entered the house. She smiled at the view of his son sitting on the couch with his new girlfriend asleep in his arms. He smiled big at his mom "Mom, you were right." His mom just giggled at him.
