@BDogs15 The Jet Boil is fantastic. Now and then the starter will burn out. That's why you see my firing mine up with a fire steel. You also can't beat it for the weight. I use freeze dried meals and then boil water for coffee and tea so its perfect for me. You won't like it if you prefer to cook meals with frying pans and larger pots. It boils fast, its efficient with fuel and it is light for what it does. I think you'll love it. A few of my buddies bought one after using mine.

@enjoythewildUSA Also just wondering how you like your JetBoil unit. Been looking into buying one.

@BDogs15 Heavy now at at Cherry Creek...wow. that's pretty low. You typically don't see that type of snow until you hit Pine Mountain. I snow wheel in my Jeep in the winter over near Mt. Pinos. That's a great place to go just off of I-5. My Jeep's not trail ready after the abuse I put it through during hunting season so I'll probably pass this year.
Awesome. What a way to enjoy a hot beverage. Thanks!

Im curious to know how to get to this trail? I would love to see the balancing rock and the bluff you were sitting on drinking your tea.

@JustJano91 My route on this trip was to go up to Sandstone Peak where I enjoyed a nice view, I then took the Mishe Mokwa Loop back to the parking lot. Google the Circle X Ranger Station in Malibu. They have trail maps available. The trailhead is about a mile up the road. If you are coming from Oxnard, take PCH to Yerba Buena Road. Yerba Buena Road will take you to the ranger station where you can stop and ask for a map and direction. The trailhead is a mile or so up the road on the lft.

@JustJano91 If you are coming from Thousand Oaks, take Decker Canyon Road (23) to Mullholland Highway WEST. You will see Mullholland Highway EAST but don't take that route - it goes towards L.A. Take Mullholland Highway West to Little Sycamore Canyon, make a right on Little Sycamore. Little Sycamore merges into Yerba Buena Road. You will see 2 trailheads. Stop at the 2nd trailhead. Again, you can go a little farther to the ranger station for a map. This is the best hike in Malibu.

It takes about 2 hrs and 15 minutes to do the loop. I always stop and eat my lunch and take in the views, however. Have a great time friend!
