  • @OCoptimusconvoy Bonsai soil is rocky, water the tree

  • water when the soil is dry. although most of these trees are very picky depending on their type, and if they're coniferous or deciduous, you can very well depict when to water them if the soil is dry. also try not to drown it, and try not to let the soil go dry completely. but it all really depends on your tree, i've seen so many different places saying so many different things. i'm no bonsai master or anything and i don't know your tree, so just ask a nursery or something for the best advise.

  • @dextreme101 it died. I have to get another. Oh well! :)

  • @dextreme101 Moisture meters are a joke, unreliable, and an utter waste of time. Also, its not as simple as just" water it every two days." How often you need to water is solely based on how fast the plant is uptaking the water in the soil. If the plant is smaller in a med or large pot, youll be watering less often.A large plant in a smaller or med pot, more often. If its hot out for a # of days, possibly a daily watering. Locate different points in your soil to do a finger check for moisture

  • @jdfox1 you should water it every two days (and not like he watterd the bonsai) put it in a pot half full of watter and let it soak untill there are bubbles coming out or it will droun. And you should get a moisture meter for yr bonsai so you would know when to watter it.

  • The advice the person who I bought my bonsai from says to "leave the bonsai out in the crappy weather. Plant them up against the house and they love it." So during the winter and rainy seasons. he also said, "they hate sun, if you leave them out in the sun they will die." 'Litterally over-water them. Put them in a bucket of water filled about 4-6 inches, and then splash the water around every here and there." Maybe that was just the type I got.

  • i just bought an umbrella bonsai. mini trees are cute :)

  • need to submerge the pot in a bowl of water.....i used a salad bowl and the rocks stayed on.

it needs about 10 mins i think :)

  • I got a bonsai for Christmas, and the way I've been watering it was to leave it to soak in water about three quarters of the way to the top of the pot for about 45 minutes. By doing this the leaves are a good deep green colour. Is it fine for me to water my bonsai this way or should I do it differently?

  • thank you
