Second trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a second art history paper I had to do. I went to the Arms and Armor exhibit and found some glorious stuff I thought I'd share.

The tapestry at the end was in a separate part, the Medieval Art exhibit, and depicts the legend of Armadis of Gaul.

  • well, you duck and hit them with halberd from the side. plated armors are not really thick and can be penetrated easily with any straight thrust of a sword

  • @chwuwd It's the way they're shaped, not necessarily the thickness itself. Going for the armpits was a common tactic because those areas couldn't be plated. A sword thrust to most areas would do no good.

  • The artworks of war.

  • Interesting, after projectile weapons, armor disappeared. But now it has returned. Interesting.
