"Xanadu" is a song recorded by the Canadian progressive rock trio Rush for their 1977 album A Farewell to Kings. It is approximately eleven minutes long, beginning with a five-minute-long instrumental section, then transitioning to a narrative written by lyricist Neil Peart, inspired by the Samuel Taylor Coleridge poem Kubla Khan.

  • It is songs like this that made me learn the electric guitar.I remember when I first heard it on a sratchy vinyl and it was breathtaking. All the different parts and the dynamics are awesome. Sit back in the dark and turn this song on , on a really good stereo and turn the bass up .Absolute bliss!!

  • @execatty I 100% agree ! If RUSH is crap then why 40 some odd years later do they continue to sell out all major venues !! Thumbs up for defending the band !!! People give negative posts just to stir the pot. But that's ok , well done !!

  • It used to be so cool to watch Neil stand up and play all the orchestra and percussion extras live involved with songs on their eairlier stuff. Today he completely cut all that out of his performances and replaced it with a midi pad. I wish they would do an old style show and bring back the projections screen with film clips also.

  • Who's the twat? I'd say it is the moron that titles something "Live Pre-Release," on a friggin' VIDEO site. That's who. It's calle YouTube bot YouListen. I can "hear" this on my cd's. Cd's are for ears, my ears, retard. YouTube denotes something visual as opposed to audio. How many more times must I repeat myself before you say, "Oh yeah, I see what the meaning is now, yeah, like far out, right on?"

  • @jampitts dont be a twat...i dont car eif theres no fuckin video half the time...use your ears your ears
