II. MAID MARIAN
England in the reign of King John 1199-1216

Although there are varied and conflicting accounts of the legend of Maid Marian, this story tells of Marian's sorrow while waiting for her beloved Robin to return from the Crusades. Such is the extent of her grief that she has turned to monastic life, denying herself any carnal pleasures if Robin is not their source.
