THE LAW AND SIN:

1 John 3:4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

Ephesians 2:1-3 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

James 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

If you are unsure as to whether you are guilty by the law, examine yourself.:

Have you ever told a lie?
If so, you are a liar, and you are condemned.

Have you ever stolen?
If so, you are a thief, and you are condemned.

Have you ever looked at someone lustfully?
If so, you are an adulterer (Matt. 5:27), and you are condemned.

Have you ever hated somone with an unrighteous anger? If so, you are a murder (Matt. 5:21) and you are condemned.

Have you ever taken God's name in vain (used it as a swear word), if so you are blasphemer and you are condemened.

Those are just FIVE of the 10 commandments. If you have broken any one of them once, then you need to REPENT.

Matthew 5:17-20 Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
