Parallelling Dunstan and Boy to show how one cannot live life without spiritual awareness... Father Blazon showing Dunstan how every person has their own peculiar path to take towards individuation...Jungian Archetypes woven so cleverly into the narrative...
I read Fifth Business- it was different. I'm kind of neutral about it: I don't know if I liked it or if I disliked it. But he's got a lot of good, insightful stuff to say.
If you're into sci fi, all of Frank Herbert's books are incredible. Very different style, Herbert seems to deal more with societies than individual psyches but he is certainly an author, like davies, with an extraordinary perspective who really delves into the significant aspects of humanity and exposes many truths.
I wholeheartedly recommend the American author John Crowley to anyone wishing to find a feeling similar to the one Davies delivers. Pay close attention to his novel "Little, Big" and the four-volume "Aegypt" cycle.

Genius! Love all of his books!
Recommended to read all the Trilogies in order,
although any one of them stands up by itself, they're
very enjoyable in order.
