  • There is entirely way too much vibrato in this and it's throwing the pitch off. And soprano 1 part near the end was butchered completely. There was one soprano that continued to sing when all the others gave up.

  • We have a lot of solo performing singers in the choir and it is quite difficult to manage the vibrato, so we work with it. It works well for some pieces and is harder for others but despite the fact I believe we do a good job of managing it on the whole.

  • Which university is this, they sound good.

  • Montclair State University from New Jersey.

  • Nice sound! but i agree with zachking88, and shesh300.....Needs to be straightone!..way to much vibrato...ruins the effect of the piece!

  • All the parts are really hard.

  • Yeah... the vibrato is distracting in a piece like this.

  • beautiful tennor and alto section. absolutely brilliant ensemble but those two sections were just the chocolate to my soul. =)

this is one of the best performances of this piece i have heard.

  • this isn't too fast...it's way too slow. If you listen to a group actually do it that is conducting by Eric Whitacre, he moves the tempo around, and does much more dynamically. Plus there is hardly any vibrato. This is very punchy, and sounds like every beat is being stressed, which it should not be. Slips in tune at 2:43.

  • Too fast and too much vibrato.

In my opinion, this song was written to be performed with straight tone. The tone is good.

  • too much vibrato =[

    *tear*

  • i didnt either! lol great work!

  • actually doin it slower is better cos it can show th emotions more clearly and the sounds fade of best in that way. sounds a bit STIFF though..?

  • amen.
