ZIP Files Make My Computer Go Weird!!! :(

When I open a ZIP file my computer tries to open it (by default in Internet Explorer) IE flashes open and then close and open, close - so it causes a flashing effect. For a better video see blue screen error (on my channel). At the time of blue screen error I though it was just that, but now I realise it is ALL ZIP files that make my computer go weird.

When you open a zip file, your computer runs a program to unzip it and then tries to work with what it gets when it is unzipped. There can be two sources of trouble. The unzipping program may be bad or the contents may be bad.
I would copy the file onto a different machine and try it there or if you can't get a different machine, you can always use a "Live CD" such as "Puppy Linux" to open the file. Of the file is ok, then it is your unzipping program.
