Please listen and take this electrical safety message seriously.

One of the reasons Photonic quit his channel, because of copycats doing extremely dangerous electrical experiments, with absolutely no electrical knowledge and no regards towards safety.

The MOT ( Microwave Oven Transformer ) is an extremely dangerous piece of equipment for anyone with no electrical knowledge. Don't fool around with a MOT as it will electrocute someone !

Then High Voltage and mains rated Capacitors need to be discharged with a 100 ohm 5 Watt resistor as they can give a very nasty shock too.

We make these electrical popping video's for your entertainment, and to avoid you having to do these experiments yourself.

Whatever you do, always disconnect from the supply, discharge capacitors.
Have that physical beak, Never trust a switch !!

I forgot to mention in this video that Boomboxdeluxe was one of the first to always mention this very important safety tip, Have a physical break in the power supply !!

Photon's new channel name is: PhotonicinductionArc

26 Feb 2012 It appears that Photon has closed his YT account.

I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)

  • did you move from the netherlands to Aus ? Or does the netherlands have the same plugs as Aus ?

  • @TheElectricnoob I moved from The Netherlands to New Zealand.

In NZ and AUS we have the same plugs. They are different than in NL. ( with flat prongs )

Look at my YT power point video

  • PhotonicinductionArc just closed his channel again :(

  • @MrSciencetificsasuke Thanks for that info. I have put that in the intro text too.

  • wheres photoninductions channel?

  • @Synthematix photonicinductionarc

  • ...also, rodalco, you look much better without that hat.

  • @Dazzyc84 Aaaw. :-) Thanx for the mention. You're right though, NEVER rely on switches! They can fail. Always see there's a PHYSICAL BREAK from the experiment & the supply. The electric can't bridge the gap, so generally, all is good.

On my "fun" vids, I put an [ ADVISORY: Mains Voltage, 240v! ] in the title & a disclaimer in the video's description, so really, I have covered myself.

As I say: "I did this, so you don't have to" If they do, & get buzzed, that's their loss!

  • people stupid enough to ignore photonicinduction's warnings DESERVE to pay the penalty.

  • man i really wanted to see his H reactor/fuser :(

  • @RODALCO2007 do you know why he closed his new channel. i talked to him about 2 weeks ago and he said he was going to keep it up

  • Yeah, those MOT trannies are lethal. I am an electronics tech, and even I, with years of experience, am not so keen on MOT and their associated HV cap and diode. The charge left in the cap can potentially kill you even after the power is switched off and the oven unplugged. I saw one vid here on YouTube, of a kid about 12 trying to WELD using the 2kv output of a MOT - very stupid. I guess there will always be those who will try to do things best left to others - that is just human nature.

  • screw safty if you say dont do this at home, and they then do it and if they do or dont get hurt all I can say the saftyng thing is getting out of controlle and so is the crybabbies I love Photonic videos but I get tired of the crying. I exsperment with a lot of stuff and its a learning exsperence.

  • subed m8 gr8 vid
