(Con't)Meyer DOES try to explain it as being a protection thing at first, and then growing into a romantic love as the girl becomes of age. Personally, I also think it's ridiculous and stupid, but she does attempt to clarify what you want to be clarified. And to be clear, I'm NOT defending Twilight. It sucks, and I hate it lots. I just wanted to point out some things about your commentary that I didn't think were quite right. Like I said, I 100% agree with the "true love" being a complete fail.

Ok Im at the imprinting bit, and I can explain it to you properly but not online. However when Jacob inprints on Reneseme its not "romantic" love, TRUST ME

It's not really incest either. The problem with imprinting is that it is essentially child grooming. Anyway, it's weird and disgusting, I do agree with that.

Also, you're dead on about everyone treating Bella like an idiot, and her not doing much to prove them wrong. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I DID read the book, and it's even worse in the book, I'm sure.

I agree with everything you said about Bella and Edward's lack of personality and the lack of chemistry between them, as well as Meyer's terrible writing. But about the necrophilia and bestiality, I wouldn't go that far. Twilight is not the only story that involves humans having sex with vampires and werewolves, so I wouldn't call it out on that, unless you're gonna call all the other books and movies and tv shows out as well. Also, the whole imprinting thing IS stupid and disgusting, but...

Heya. If you ever want to know more about the Twilight books without having to read them, I suggest you google 'Mark Reads Twilight (so you don't have to)'. He's read all the books and done a chapter by chapter summary, and they're usually pretty amusing. And the video he made of how he disposed of the books afterwards is the best thing ever.

Also, I totally agree with you on pretty much everything you said. I still have no idea how people can read that garbage and seriously enjoy it. Bleah.
