On Easter Day, 1865, with the Civil War all but over, 13,000 Union cavalry soldiers swept down on the city of Columbus, Georgia. Led by a visionary young general, they had but one goal in mind: to destroy the Confederacy's last depots of supply and manufacturing. They were met in a violent nighttime struggle by 3,000 defenders, mostly civilians, in what historians call the last "official" battle of the Civil War. "The Last Ditch" documents that struggle and shows how it foreshadowed the future of modern mechanized warfare and changed the world in ways no one could have imagined. www.thelastditchfilm.com
