@ladybird1953 Yeah, why would we want to look at the foundation of a country to find a future?

Great thinking!!! Put it in writing and send it to your senator, if not, Ill send it to mine!!
-
So if your for Reform, tell me how would you reform Health Care?
-
With a little more focus you will clearly see the 1st paragraph of the Constitution states "provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare". This bill does not promote the general Welfare. It provides Welfare. There is a diffrence. I am for reform but there are better ways of doing it that dont break the Constitution. And if you like providing welfare so much hook me up out of your own pocket, cause I don't have healthcare. I'll be looking for your personal check in the mail.

I was calling and e-mailing my Congressman and Senators. I was talking to my friends and urging them to do the same.

See this is where your so far off the focus of the bill. It does just exactly that "provides for and promotes the common welfare of the people". It provides a level playing field and promotes competition. Again, read the bill. I know, I know, it's a huge bill..Well it's not. It's only 23 pages of a dime store paper back novel in content. Complex, yes. Requires focus and comprehension, yes..but do able if you take your time.

What up with all this comparing everything to the Constitution? Where were you guys when the wire tapping started without a warrant? Where were you guys when the "free speech Zones" started under Bush Jr. We sure could have used you in those battles and many more of the Constitutional violations that happened under his watch.

you asked if I had read HR 3200. I have read to much of it. I ask you..have you read the U.S. Constitution ? If so, what is the diffrence between "provide for and promote the"?
I think we'd be a lot further ahead in the discussion of health care reform ( read: health insurance ) if people could quit waving the Constitution and the Federalist Papers around.... oh, BTW I've read all in upper division Univ. of Ut poli-sci classes (Roves mentor was my prof - J. D. Williams)
So many are so far off topic that it's not surprising that the real issues are lost in the melee.
The best think responders/commenters could do: Stay on topic.
