@gloria120304 Such a bittersweet story...I will never buy from breeders--of any breed--ever again. My basset came from a breeder, and while I was in middle school and didn't fully understand what a puppy mill was (even though it was a smaller one that I visited), I do now, and I hope most people understand that dogs are more than just machines (if you don't support mills, then you shouldn't support factory farms either!). There are TONS of rescues for EVERY breed.Shelters are always overflowing.

we adopted our basset as a rescue from a puppy mill ( they had kept her as a breeding female ) she is the most wonderful girl, so genital and kind hearted. We love her so much
