  • would you rather run 1:51 and win DIII nationals... or run 1:51 and be ranked 150th in D1, but actually get to compete at the highest level... and hope to improve to compete for a real national title. I'll take the latter.

  • Actually,

Would you rather be someone who accomplishes a lot and wins multiple National Championships in Track and Field or would you rather be a weak sauce guitar player who hasn't accomplished anything who watches people on YouTube who have accomplished things of significance and then hates on them?

    That's the better question?

  • But I don't mean to change your mind.. or even get you to think about it because I see you feel very strongly towards DIII.. so more power to ya.

  • I did not say a word about Symmonds. I just thought it was an interesting thing to think about is all. You sure do get offended quickly. Symmonds is great and from DIII, but I would personally rather run in a power D1 conference. I wasn't saying Bofa isn't good. He is very good. But i was just curious if you'd rather be really good and kill kids in DIII or have a shot at a D1 national title where you race the best for the crown. Just something to think on was all that was intended

  • Symmonds won the DIII 800 title 4 times.. Bofa took 4th his freshman year after being injured for 5 months and trained in April and took 4th at the end of May. He won his soph. year (this video), and then won his Junior year in 1:48.7, which is faster then Symmonds ever won the championship race in a 1:49.5

So this comment about "winning a championship that is too easy" has no validity bc then you have to talk crap about the 800 guy who just represented your country in this past olympics

  • But, the funny thing is guys like you were saying the same things to a guy like Nick Symmonds who won this same DIII Championship race 2 years earlier. Now you said u run the 800 so I presume u know who Symmonds is. If you don't... he's the BEST 800m runner in the United States of America. He ran at a DIII school at Willamette University in OR.

  • Just bc your at a DIII school doesn't mean u don't get to race the best... he was at the Husky Classic at UW a couple weeks ago an guess who else was there?? THE BEST DI athletes in the nation... he was racing DI guys, go check the list buddy.

  • My PR is not close to that of Emmanuel Bofa, but it just seems a shame that when he gears up to win a "national championship"... its still just DIII.. he's good enough to race against the best guys... He doesn't even have to run his hardest to win a DIII national title

  • Ha. I actually had the choice to go DI or smaller in track.. and I run the 800 which lead me to this video. and I had to asked myself that question when factoring in my decision. I have not accomplished anything, but I've run faster than this already indoor this year, but I still prefer to race the fastest competition. I have no national championships or conference championships.. but i race the best on a weekly basis...

  • Eman just ran a 1:48:77 actually
