A little bit of improvisation to show how a simple instrument like my hand made cigar box guitars can perform. It's run through an amp with bit of reverb and overdrive here. Just a bit of Delta inspired stuff to show you how you can play it heavy or soft, lead and rhythm. Great fun.

  • Once I asked you for tips on Delta Blues musicians and you gave me some. Thank you. You introduced me to music that goes straight into my heart.

  • @Miruulul thankyou for your kind comment - nice to know I have helpes someone find some pleasure.

  • wish i could answer that but sorry i can't, you'd just have to trawl through putting in similar search terms. glad you enjoyed it though.

  • I was wondering what stings you used for this guitar and the tuning? This is a really great video..your guitar has a really nice tone to it :D

  • @nm9287 thanks tuning was open E - EBE strings probably bottom three from a set of 10s, nothing special just whatever I could get cheap.

  • I have one (4 string) that I scored at Merlefest last year and I have a 6 string takamine, but I'm really no good with either of them, can you tell me where I should start if I wanna learn the blues? Your skills are amazing. I love Delta blues, Traditional blues, but that's like a very interesting mississippi swamp blues. What are your influences?

  • @skyreep1 have a look on here for a guy called deltabluestips. He has some great lessons. Also Keni Lee Burgess for CBG lesssons. Influences - John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Lightnin Hopkins, Bo Diddley, M. Fred Mcdowell, Ry Cooder, Son House, early Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green) Stevie Ray Vaughan, the list is endless. Just listen to any of these great blues players black or white to get a feel of the blues, learn the Emin Pantatonic scale start experimenting to find some of those simple licks

  • I want to buy you a beer

  • @ArcaneFaith You could start with some classic old blues players like Mississippi Fred McDowell, early Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Blind Willie Johnson, Rev Gary Davis for starters
