Shadow Home Secretary David Davis dropped a political bombshell today by announcing he was quitting as an MP in order to fight a by-election over the 'strangulation' of British freedoms.Mr Davis said he was protesting against the "insidious and monstrous" erosion of civil liberties in Britain.
The Tory MP revealed he was stepping down in disgust at last night's passing of new terror laws allowing 42-day detention of suspects without charge and because of the general 'erosion' of civil liberties by the Government. DAvid was re-elected unanimously WITHOUT A LABOUR CANDIDATE (They feared defeat). Can the conservatives PLEASE get rid of this dictatorship.

I listened with incredulity as Gordon Brown instantly insisted he would still ratify and

futher disbelief as Jose Barrosso stated that they would find a way round it - as if it was a monor incomvenience. Our dear leaders do not want to lose their power and glory - they believe that we are only the proletariat and we must be 're-educated' to vote to keep them on their gravy train. We plebs must just work hard to keep them as the elite. We are a minor inconvenience.
