At a U.S. Senate debate in September 2006, sponsored by the Fairfax County (Virginia) Chamber of Commerce, then-Senator George Allen responds angrily to a question by reporter Peggy Fox about whether he had Jewish heritage. This question came in the wake of the "macaca" incident, and reports that this is a commonly used racial slur North Africa, where Allen's mother was born.
