  • could you have just cut the valve at a 45 with a carbide cutter, and more chuck/engine speed? slowly?

  • Yes--but you might then have to lap the valves.

  • @mrpete222 no matter what, even with a toolpost grinder, a final lap would be a good idea. just what I've found from building a good amount of motors.

  • Thanks for all the great vids. I have learned a lot. How do you repair the seat? cutter or grind? Also have you ever tried to boar a small engine cylinder on your lathe?

  • another great vid. I suppose you could cut multi angles on the valve seat. Like in performance engines. Neat idea mate.
