I've been your model A student my whole life, did sports, was involved etc etc and now that I'm nearly done with my bachelors (finance) I've noticed that what really counts is who and what you really know, the titles and degrees and grades end up meaning dogshit in the end. I've been lucky enough to have a professor set me up with the job I'm lined up for now, but that was a total damn fluke. so to my fellow grads, our grades were pointless. That is all.

@turkeysub3000 let me know when you make your millions. lol just cuz ur friend called you "the kid to watch" doesn't mean diddly squat. i made apps for ios when it first came out and made couple hundreds thousands in a week. making money is easy, you just need to know strike when the iron is hot.

no, A students are kids that take a system no kid really likes and does the best they can while D students cant function in all enviroments.

the crowd claps because their failures are justified XD

i will be graduating with a degree in biomedical engineering from UC Davis this spring, and i still dont see the purpose in school. i believe the ones who are oftentimes motivated by a superficial/materialistic goal are the ones who succeed at school and at work. i feel like it requires little intelligence but great patience, motivation, and hard work to sit there and learn this garbage that you will never find useful besides for doing well in the class.

@Lexter441 Sorry I meant to say he would have "put General Electric *out of business*"
-
@Lexter441 JP Morgan also cut off funding to Tesla's projects because Tesla wanted to create a means to provide free electricity to everyone. And JP Morgan, knowing Tesla was right about all his other inventions, feared he would succeed and put General Electric.
PEOPLE DO NOT BE OBEDIENT! IF YOU ARE SMART, DO NOT BE OBEDIENT. They only thing people want from you will be your labor and skills.
-
But my point is that Tesla only got to where he was by being DISOBEDIENT. The reason why you have to be disobedient, is because the people telling you to be obedient are only looking to use you and your labor. ANYONE in authority looks to use people for their gain. THAT'S why they are in authority.
Edison did not want tesla to disobey him, as his employer, but tesla went ahead and created alternating current which put Edison out of business.
-
@Lexter441 In fact Tesla had major disputes with his employers, such as Thomas Edison, which almost destroyed him. And unfortunately he died penniless. But that's because he CHOSE to. (he was kind of crazy). And because, in order to keep electricity inexpensive to the public, Tesla sold George Westinghouse his own royalties, which were worth $12 million, for just $216,000. If Tesla had kept his royalties, he may have been the first billionaire.

i honestly hate authority that is hypocritical, overbearing, and controlling for no reason. i have always resisted authority with a passion for those reasons if and when I sniff someone out of those qualities. I am a smart kid who one of my old classmates called me "the kid to watch"... I have been struggling to find a job after college, but I am thinking fuck it, I will start my own business and fight tooth and nail with a good idea or two.
