Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang 2010. Sneak preview swell at Padang; All the 32 invited surfers agreed, it was a good call to hold off for a bigger, badder swell. With 24 days remaining in the waiting period, the odds are still good the 2010 Rip Curl Cup will see awe-inspiring tuberides on par with last year's contest (August is prime season for bombing swells here in Bali).

Hundreds of people showed up to the beach today in hopes of watching the Ultimate Tuberiding Contest. The grandstands set up by Rip Curl and the ISC were packed all day and you cold hardly put one foot down on the sand without stepping on someone. Fortunately, no one left disappointed. Everyone on hand was treated to a sneak preview of the Padang Cup. A pack of this year's contestants including Koa Smith, Garut Widiarta, Kalani Chapman, Flynn Novak and Tom Lowe were all out there warming up their tube stance and putting on a show.

Can't believe the waves weren't good enough for you guys to run the event! The WCT would have been frothing over waves that good. Fucken ridiculous that they've chosen such shit breaks for the next season of surfing.
