This is the opening original used for the 4th and 5th season of Emergency! in the 70s.It has the original jazzy theme ( that was used also for the german opening ) and not the voice over opening from season 6.They used the wrong openings for the DVD releases of those two seasons.

I thought something was slightly wrong when I was watching my season four dvd set...now I know. Has the season three intro on the dvd set also been altered? I don't own season three yet.

@paramedic51 I remember watching this in syndication as a kid on KTLA in Los Angeles. They used this theme for every episode. Then one day they switched and started using the theme with voice overs. Bummed me out. LOL

Those are not from season 4 and 5. I have all seasons except 7, and in the openings you can hear Randolph Mantooth call in an emergency. At the end of the opening he says "We're on our way Rampart."

@acesobrian Yes that´s true.But those on the DVDs are not the original openings that were used back then.What you can see on TV and on the DVDs are the openings of the syndication version. This is the original version that was used back in the original airing during the 70s.

was the scene at 0:40, the 'bicarb thumb pop' an actually cut from one of the episodes? If so, could you tell me with one? Thanks! Love Emergency!

@arkangel519 Hi! No all those scenes where shot only for the opening.They were made during the shooting of the episode The Old Engine Cram.
