The Perfect Circle of Sound, otherwise known as the Old or Ancient Solfeggio Scale is a musical scale consisting of 6 notes, namely Ut, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol and La and they were allegedly used by Gregorian Monks in their chants!

Dr. Joseph Puleo has apparently found the frequencies for this scale, along with their supposed special powers including one frequency that we know todays science actually uses to help repair DNA... according to some articles on the internet.
The notes are:
UT -- 396 Hz -- Liberating Guilt and Fear
RE -- 417 Hz -- Undoing Situations and Facilitating Change
MI -- 528 Hz -- Transformation and Miracles (DNA Repair)
FA -- 639 Hz -- Connecting/Relationships
SOL -- 741 Hz -- Awakening Intuition
LA -- 852 Hz -- Returning to Spiritual Order

Being of a curious nature I downloaded a free Tone Generator from the web and dialled in the frequencies and then sampled the sounds, giving me just 6 notes... So I decided to throw them into Garageband, and I arranged the song by copy and pasting each note in the arranger window as audio, not as midi. I then went bonkers with the effects and transposed parts and this was the final result. A weird, electronic, eerie kind of 8-bit orchestra!

I am a firm believer in the science of sound and frequency waves, but I don't know for sure if this track is going to cure your ills or help your relationships, but hey, worth a try!

The video is one of my first attempts in Final Cut Express, so I wanted a tune that was ambiguous in nature and allowed me to create a visual that didn't have to fit to any kind of script. I focussed on the Gregorian Chant theme within the Ancient Solfeggio Scale and this was the result. I used free royalty-free motion loops downloaded from the internet along with some public domain material from archive.org to get the images.

I would love to hear some remixes using this, some big beats, percussion, or some haunting vocals maybe? 120bpm

I hope you enjoy this little slice of something totally different!

  • i had cyber sex and we have cyber jesus for the spiritual

  • @HippieHusbands Cool track! I was poking around to try to learn more about this scale. I came to a similar conclusion that the concept seems to be about 90% newage hogwash, but I nevertheless enjoyed what you did with it. :)

would you say this contains the language of healing? it sounds very similar.

  • I only use these frequencies with my bass guitar now. I tune to an A of 417hz. These frequencies sound and feel so much better, they resonate naturally throughout your body and the things around you. The monks used these natural frequencies for spiritual empowerment, they understood the power of nature. I no longer use the "standard" tuning of A-440hz as it gives me headaches and body aches. I recommend Solfeggio Frequencies to all musicians to help enlighten and spiritually empower humanity.

  • @siclos Hey and thanks for taking time to leave a comment!

I heard about the "Ancient" Solfeggio scale years ago, but it is only something that I have tackled musically recently! I tend to agree with you that the origins of these frequencies is based more in fiction than fact and all the info about them on the web seems to come from a common source, thus my use of the words 'allegedly' and 'according to the internet' in my description of the track... But none the less, an interesting experiment
