Starting to break out with a bit more contrast on this one. I definitely liked working on the black canvas, i believe that helped quite a bit.

I actually made a few discoveries this time around. Here's what I finally managed to figure out...

* Cleaning the brush more often is good. Really good.
* Just because Bob Ross uses a #2 brush, doesn't mean I have to... especially since my canvas is much smaller than his. Duh. Scary that it took me so long to figure that out.
* Don't be afraid. Sometimes you just have to 'go for it' and not look back.
* I have a tendancy to start things too low on the canvas. Gotta work on that.
* Don't overwork the painting. I repeat, don't overwork the painting.

Overall this is probably my favorite one so far, so i'm going to give it a 6.8/10. I have a feeling i'll never achieve a 10 on the wet on wet technique, because deep inside I am yearning for detail... but this is still fun to learn as a starting point.

  • ka-chow! you are getting better quick!

i love oils, but i dislike that many are toxic because i have a habit of painting with my hands. (not good!)

    :D hope to see more!

  • Yeah i'm all about using the hands, so this is a bit different for me... If I start to glow in the dark though, at least I'll know why.

  • That looks like fun. Pretty spiffy looking in the end! Glad to see more videos.

    Max

  • I love you all that much more for using the word "spiffy". :-) It is a lot of fun. I like just getting to sit down and slop some colors around and not having to spend a gazillion hours to get to the end. :)

I'm glad you haven't forgotten about me... sorry for being so hit or miss lately.

  • You are forgiven. I'm just glad to see ya around a bit! So keep on being spiffy and I'll keep coming back, deal?

  • *shakes your hand*
