Put a praying mantis up in the netting of the plants with the insect problems.

I like all the tricks u have like the pantyhose on the 'maters, thats a good one :)

Have you thought about connecting up your boxes and making them long rows of four feet by however... it'd double your yield.

Those insects might be ladybugs in the larva stage. If the are, they will eat aphids so don't remove them. Google "ladybug stages" to see a picture of the larva.

your garden is awesome,can you tell us what kinda fertilizers you use,organics? and one more question,do you just pour potting soil from the store in your beds? take care.

Thank you. I have tried a little Miracle Grow and it worked well. However, I think it made some of my tomato blooms drop...I am not sure what it causing the bloom drop. Mostly, I like to use epsom salt and powdered milk for the vegetables. Also, the book "Square Foot Gardening" walked me through the process of putting together this garden. There is a very specific formula for the soil.
