He was sweet and sincere. He had a temper, one that I used to tell myself only I could calm down. He wore the best clothes and the tightest jeans. He meant left when he said right but he had a good head on his shoulders. He was a terrible driver. Terrible. He smiled just to make me laugh. He walked slower with me, urging the passing of time with each footstep.  He let me borrow his clothes and that was okay because he looked best without his shirt, and youd never know. I was comfortable with him and we were good together.  

You know, its not always pretty or elegant. This is what love sometimes looked like. A boy and a girl sitting across from eachother, no words filling the room, only him tapping his foot as he swiveled back and forth in your chair as you sat silent on the couch, your arms crossed over your chest.
"Are those for tomorrow?"

I looked to where he pointed; a white dress and a red dress hung out of their bags up against the window in my green room. I nodded. "I have to pick one and I dont really know if I like either of them..."

"Wear jeans youll look beautiful no matter what you have on"

I was angry. I couldnt deny that. Sometimes thats what I resorted to; anger instead of tears. It didnt hurt as much up front. The darkness only crept in when I was alone. "Nick, maybe this was a bad idea. We cant just sit here like this...its getting us nowhere"

He sighed and turned toward me in the chair. He stopped tapping his foot and leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees as he rubbed at his face. "I cant believe you made this video"

Now it was my turn to lean forward. Leaning into his space, I scoffed. "Youre kidding, right?"

"Cmon Miles! We were doing fine and then you released this stupid song and were right back in it again!"

"Its not stupid!"

"Im vain? Really Miles? My friends? Theyre jerks? Because Im pretty sure my friends were nothing but nice to you the entire time we were dating. And not once did I ever even bat a friggin eye at another girl! You know how I felt about you!"

"I needed to get it out, Nicholas! A part of me really hates you and I cant get over this on my own. We always promised we'd let music get us through it. You apologized, I accepted. Cant we just move on?"

"I dont think I can"

"Don't you dare! Don't you ever say something like that to me! I tried calling and I even walked by your house a few times and not once did I get a call back or god for-fucking-bid, a smile in my direction!"

"Miles!" I was standing now. He joined me, trying to step into me and hold me tight. Not this time. I pounded at his chest, my fists flying as fast as they could before I finally broke down. "Miley!"

"Go!" I screamed. 

"Never" His whisper hit my ear and landed in a hot breath. Before I knew it, he was thumbing my ear as he cupped my cheeks, our lips suddenly touching and my head and my heart both told me not to pull away. Losing control, my knees went weak and I lazily wrapped my hands around his neck for strength. Nick smiled into my mouth as I played with the hair at the nape of his neck. "God, I love you" I pulled away, a look of horror etched its way onto my face as those three words left his gorgeous lips. "I mean that. I never stopped. And now not a day goes by that I dont miss you and want everything we used to have together. I need you Miles. Im in love with you"
