@fridrikur The solution is to update the firewire controller that the digi is using and using a legacy driver by choosing the option 'i will search for the driver myself'

@fridrikur I looked up the drivers but there's only 2 & there's no IEEE 1394 or legacy driver. I'm running Windows 7 btw.

Legacy driver didnt work for me...........isnt crashing now at DAE it is just freezing, first it froze at Initializing Machine Controls, then crashed at initial fire up of PT, installed the Legacy driver, now it is freezing at DAE even after the Legacy driver.

@UltraEnigmaRaps67 No you do not need the legacy driver in xp. Just use the driver that came with your firewire card. I believe that the firewire bus host controller driver in xp is the same as the legacy driver in windows 7, thus the name legacy driver. But if it works there is no need to change drivers.

@fridrikur Question dude i get a xp and do i need to do that update legacy driver to or what please reply
There is a fix choose the legacy driver for the firewire controller. The reason you do this is that win7 comes with a new firewire controller drivre that is not compatible with older hardware like the digi 002. This solution worked for me. No more bsod
