Operation Crossroads was a series of nuclear weapon tests conducted by the United States at Bikini Atoll in the summer of 1946. Its purpose was to test the effect of nuclear weapons on naval ships. The series consisted of two detonations, each with a yield of 23 kilotons:[1] Able was detonated at an altitude of 520 feet (158 m) on July 1, 1946; Baker was detonated 90 feet (27 m) underwater on July 25, 1946. A third burst, Charlie, planned for 1947, was canceled primarily because of the Navy's inability to decontaminate the target ships after the Baker test.

The Crossroads tests were the fourth and fifth nuclear explosions conducted by the United States (following the Trinity test and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki). They were the first of many nuclear tests held in the Marshall Islands, and the first to be publicly announced beforehand and observed by an invited audience, including a large press corps.

The most important result from Crossroads, though not widely reported at the time, was the radioactive contamination of all the target ships by the underwater Baker shot. It was the first case of immediate, concentrated local radioactive fallout from a nuclear explosion. (The fallout from an air burst is global, held in the stratosphere for days and widely dispersed.)[2] Chemist Glenn Seaborg, the longest-serving chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, called Baker "the world's first nuclear disaster."[3]

Unidentified flying object (commonly abbreviated as UFO or U.F.O.) is the popular term for any apparent aerial phenomenon whose cause cannot be easily or immediately identified by the observer. The United States Air Force, which coined the term in 1952, initially defined UFOs as those objects that remain unidentified after scrutiny by expert investigators,[1] though today the term UFO is colloquially used to refer to any unidentifiable sighting regardless of whether it has been investigated. Another widely known acronym for UFO in Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian is OVNI (Objeto Volador No Identificado, with variant regional spellings). Some investigators now prefer to use the broader term unidentified aerial phenomenon (or UAP), to avoid the confusion and speculative associations that have become attached to UFO.

  • I would appreciate constructive back and forth analysis of this and other videos, negative and positive.

  • 2:13 Indeed it looks like confedereacy intergalactic destroyer model IG16/X with latest model of phonon torpedoes.

Let me prove you are wrong using formal logic:

They claim and there are good reasons to believe them since it would be shame for them to show movies with unexplicable objects, that the moving white dot was US pilotless radiation measurement drone. Therefore the object has been identified and consequently is not an UFO. End of proof.

  • @krbosak

I've got too much recent video material, including photos showing aliens from my own research to explain this and other related material as weather balloons, drones, etc. In fact, the UFO I show looks the same as type of craft as I am seeing so many years later.

  • You bet it looks like a white dot - you have to crack the optical stealth bit of the UFO using NEON algorithm in GIMP.

  • destructive bastards should be shot. fuck nukes

  • we sent you a message you ignored it, roswell new mexico.

  • it`s bugging out

  • 300% magnification reveals a fuzzy white dot

  • And how exactly would a drone function back then? no remote flight thats for sure without a computer, and automated flight without a computer would also be difficult. Not impossible but i find it hard to believe that was a drone when were only in recent years messing with drone technology now. Great find James.
