  • This is an annoyingly scratchy sound.

It shouldn't sound like this, because it's recorded by a camera-microphone first of all, on top of that it's in a terrible place to record...

  • I have always felt that it is the full package deal with James. The voice, guitar riff writing ability, and the gear. James is an equal with Iommi as for riff writing and his voice became the top of the line in metal. To me, it just comes down to what kind of gear he chooses to use for a given sound/song. I do play, sing, and write music.

  • @jankster21 he has a foot pedal on the ground which changes effects the swith in the guitar changes which pickup he is using

  • how does james change from dirt to clean? It seams like he just flick the toggle but how does the toggle control amp switching?

  • Some nfl team should come out of the tunnel to this song.

  • @Direksone Isn't that what I said? Anyway if you say it's all about amp and hardware, and then say the "playstyle" counts for 20-30% of the sound, you're contradicting yourself. Those 20-30% is the 20-30% one can't get if you're not James. I do acually play myself.

  • @MetalDude555 not really.. its all about the settings of your amp and what kind of hardware your guitar has. The 'playstyle' is like 20-30% of the whole, which isnt really the sound of the guitar, but called your playstyle.

  • @80Metallica huh what?! its live sound, no special soundboard EQ or anything...not like you what would hear on a production live dvd...and tune a cymbal???? what the fuck?

  • @MetalDude555 dude...this brutal sound is one of the many reasons why i play guitar!! fuck yeah!
