  • i sincerely hope eminence hasn't stolen your product, as i'm seeing this new "fluxtone" speaker tech of theirs on the net. i discovered you guys almost 2 years ago, & i think you have an AMAZING product, & it'd be a shame if some larger company came along & lifted the idea. did you sell or license it to them?

  • FluxTone has not been contacted by, or consulted about anything, with regard to any product that Eminence has, is, or will be marketing. We really appreciate the loyalty.

  • is this any different than any of the hundreds of other attenuators out there? it seems the end result is the same.

  • The difference is that our attenuator gives you 2 and 1/2 times the range of attenuation that a typical attenuator offers. But the MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT SEPARATES US FROM ALL OTHERS: Due to the nature of the FluxTone system, there is no suppression of the delicate harmonics created by your tube amp, that almost always get destroyed by all other attenuators. That's why everyone refers to the other attenuators as " tone suckers". We lower the volume without changing the tone.

  • Thanks for the view, Slighe39.

That is correct! Some players use the VMT control that way...One time we set up a Fender Twin with a foot pedal Controling the VMT.

Usually folks adjust The VMT control to the venue size...and make all other adjustments in their signal path the same way as before.

    again thanks for the look.

  • The tone really chimes!! BTW, Could you share the model name of the camera used on this clip?

  • No. The VMT control is varying a power supply that energizes the magnet on the back of your speaker. So when you vary the VMT control, you are varying the size(or strength) of the magnet on your speaker. This in turn varies the efficiency of your speaker which in turn varies how loud it is per the same power from your amp. As you can see, this does not interfere with or attenuate the audio in any way.
