I was lucky enough to meet Mr.Reeve(Who played both"Clark Kent & Superman"in the movie)in NYC before he died.He was a kindly, caring and sweet gentle man..(Crying)I Still Miss Him.

I was 2 back then and my father made my 3 older brothers do their homework and he wouldn't let them watch Superman I on ABC until they were finished and my parents checked it. Plus the ABC movie intro was my fave intro, I wish ABC would bring it back when they air their Saturday night movies,

@jntdhome Good point. It was a great time to be a kid at the time of Superman and Star Wars. I was 9 as well when I first saw Superman. Still my all-time favorite movie.

Man...I can remember being GLUED to the TV the two nights these came on when I was in high school. The next day after the first night, everyone at school was talking about it and were amazed at how "cool" it was. This was event TV at its best!

@jntdhome My dad took me to see the film in the theater. And I DID believe a man could fly! To this day, I still get choked up when Jonathan clutches his wrist, says, "...no.." and collapses. Great great movie and awesome memories. I was a Star Wars/Superman/CE3K kid too at age 12.

@jusfukoff yes they were, good memories
I was 9 when this film came out and I can't watch it without thinking of my Dad..who took me to see it on December 26th, 1978...and again at Easter in 1979. Such a special film and to this day, I get a bit choked up at the opening credits as I think about how great it was to be a kid at the time of Star Wars and Superman. A fond memory of my Dad as well.....RIP Dad.

I remember being in second grade and I stayed up watching this movie on tv. I didn't do my homework for 2 days.. I got in trouble big time.. Oh, I also had the Atari 2600 game system.. Man, those were the days being a kid.
